Founded by Sue Braddy in 1988, SBT has been a cornerstone in educating dancers and fostering a love for the arts. Our esteemed instructors have guided thousands of dancers in ballet, tap, jazz, and contemporary dance. Our reputation extends beyond Savannah, with students traveling from all over southeast Georgia and South Carolina to be part of our vibrant community.
SBT dancers regularly gain acceptance into prestigious programs such as the Garrison School for the Performing Arts and Savannah Arts Academy as Dance Majors. Our students’ accomplishments also include admissions to renowned institutions like The Gelsey Kirkland Academy in NYC and the Kirov Academy in Washington, D.C. Among our proudest achievements, several students have outperformed thousands to earn spots in the Georgia Governor’s Honors Program.
Our Performances
Savannah Ballet Theatre is a non-profit and only professional ballet company in Southeast Georgia. SBT was established in 1998 under the artistic direction of Sue Braddy. Recognized as a premiere company in the southeast and coastal region, they are best known for their original ballets such as The Little Mermaid, The Wizard of Oz, Sleepy Hollow, Jack the Ripper and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Along with the classics such as Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty, SBT’s most notible production is the annual favorite The Nutcracker.
