About Savannah Ballet Theatre

Currently celebrating its 18th season, Savannah Ballet Theatre (SBT) was established in 1998 under the artistic direction of Suzanne Braddy. Recognized as the premiere dance company in Southeast Georgia, SBT is best known locally for its annual production of the perennial holiday favorite, The Nutcracker. Using WWII-era Savannah as the backdrop, it is an event that has become a tradition for the community and one that honors the history and unique character of the region. SBT presents a full season of classical and contemporary dance and has staged productions of Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Peter Pan, an original adaptation based on C.S. Lewis’The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, The Little Mermaid, and The Wizard of Oz.

About the School of Dance

Opened in 1988, Savannah Ballet School of Dance is Savannah’s premiere full service studio. The studio specializes in Vaganova method ballet, but also offers exciting jazz, tap, and contemporary for ages 2.5 & up. Each class has small numbers for individualized attention. Students attend class in a state of the art studio and parents are able to observe classes via the camera/tv system in the parent’s lounge. A professional recital in a beautiful theatre finishes out the year. Thousands of dancers have been educated at SBSD since 1998, come see why!
