We pride ourselves on offering a variety of dance genres and staying true to the Vaganova (Russian) Method.

Sue Braddy

(Ballet and Pre-Pointe)
Ms. Sue is the owner of SBSD and started the Savannah Ballet Theatre in 1998. She trained with Karena Brock-Carlyle and the Savannah Ballet before opening her own school in 1988. Ms. Sue is certified in Vaganova technique! She has danced all over the world and has decades of professional dance and teaching experience. Her classes are technique based and her pointe work will have you dancing on your toes!

John Cronin

(Ballet)
Mr. Cronin has performed leading roles as a Freelance Artist throughout Japan and the US. He’s also danced professionally with Carolina Ballet, North Carolina Dance Theatre, Nevada Dance Theatre, Montgomery Ballet, Columbia Classical Ballet, Columbia City Ballet, Atlantic Southeast Ballet and Arkansas Ballet.

Avery McGee

(Ballet)
Ms. Avery was born in Wilmington, Delaware, where she began her training at the Delaware Dance Company. She graduated in 2014 from Point Park University earning her Bachelor of Arts in Dance with a concentration in Ballet. This year she was proud to join the Savannah Arts Academy staff as their new musical theater dance teacher and has enjoyed being part of the dance department team. Avery is very excited to be performing in her second season with Savannah Ballet Theatre.

Mary Ruth

(Jazz)
Ms. Mary has a degree in Psychology and Nutrition. She loves all things music and dance! Her classes focus on breathing and muscle training while learning exciting choreography. She has been teaching yoga for 4 years and opened the Barre and Yoga Room in 2016.

Claire Bryant

(Tap)
Ms. Claire is an incredible rhythmic tapper and her classes are fun from start to stop! She is a junior at Savannah Arts Academy where she majors in dance. Did we mention that she also speaks French?!

Caitlin Tagliareni

(Children’s Division)
Ms. Caitlin is from Wisconsin and developed a love and passion for dance when she was very young. She started taking ballet classes at the age of three and never looked back. Caitlin went on to dance for Colorado Ballet, Kim Robards Dance, Ballet Ariel and the Southeast Alabama Dance Company. Caitlin now dances with Savannah Ballet Theatre. Caitlin loves sharing the joy of dance by teaching at Savannah Ballet Theatre and School of Dance.

Artistic Director and Choreographer Bios:

Suzanne Braddy
SBT Artistic Director
and SBSD Dance Instructor

A native of Savannah, Ms. Braddy began her ballet training with Rosalie Cotler and went on to study on scholarship with the Pennsylvania School of Ballet. Braddy returned to Savannah and danced with the Savannah Ballet Company for ten years under the direction of Karena Brock, a former principal with American Ballet Theatre. Braddy has additionally studied in Cannes, France under Rosella Hightower and recently participated in the Vaganova Method Conference in St. Petersburg, Russia. In 1988, Ms. Braddy established her own ballet school and the Savannah Ballet Theatre to which she continues to lend her vision and talent as Artistic Director.

Abby McCuen
SBT Managing Director
Choreographer-in-Residence
and SBSD Dance Instructor

Ms. McCuen received a BFA in Theater with a Dance Emphasis from Valdosta State University in 2007. She joined SBT in 2009 after working for Paramount Pictures in Hollywood, California. While living in Los Angeles, she studied jazz, contemporary, and musical theatre dance at Millennium Dance Complex and the Edge Performing Arts Center. She has also studied at Steps and Broadway Dance Center in New York City and with Rosella Hightower in Cannes, France. Ms. McCuen teaches jazz at the Savannah Ballet School of Dance and choreographs local high school musicals for St. Vincent’s Academy and Savannah Christian Preparatory School. She is a member of Dance Masters of America and Alpha Psi Omega. Her choreography has won numerous awards at various competitions throughout the Southeast.

Joulia Moisseeva
Guest Choreographer

Ms. Moisseeva graduated from Voroneg School of Ballet from the class of Professor Valitova in 1987. She went on to perform with the Musical Theater of Karelia (Petrozavodsk, Russia). Since 1988, Ms. Moisseeva has performed with the Moscow Festival Ballet, the Kremlin Ballet Company, and the Modern Theater (Ustinad-Laborn, Czech Republic). She has taught and served as ballet mistress at the Center for Dance Education at the University of South Carolina, as ballet instructor at Akron University in Ohio, the Oak Ridge Kingston Ballet Studios, Studio Arts for Dancers in Knoxville, TN, the Lexington Ballet, and Spartanburg Ballet. Ms. Moisseeva has participated in ballet tours to France, Italy, Norway, Austria, China, Mexico, Taiwan, and the United States and has choreographed several ballets including Chopiniana,The Nutcracker, Cinderella, Snow Maiden, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, and Paquita.
